Project Description
Covering an area of 542km², the City of Wyndham is one of Melbourne’s fastest growing local government areas. Located in the outer south-western region of Melbourne, the City of Wyndham is made up of 17 suburbs with a population of around 300,000 people, growing at a rate of around 2% every year.
As Wyndham grows towards a population of 500,000 people, a major focus has been to connect people and places within Wyndham to provide more time for life. Open space and services planning is a key part of the LGA’s development, including natural landscape, parklands, recreation and active sports facilities.
Since its beginning, the City of Wyndham has created over 35 open space reserves with over 60 playing fields. It is now home to approximately 30 sports clubs across all codes including AFL, Soccer and Rugby, and all levels from community to professional clubs.
