Abel Flagpoles at the Australian Open

Every year, Abel features its premium quality flagpoles throughout The Australian Open tennis tournament. Held at Melbourne Park in Janauary, our professional crew get to work in December to install 122 flagpoles around the grounds. Our team install an avenue of flags leading to the entrance of Rod Laver Arena as well as the wider grounds.

Abel flagpoles add color and excitement to Melbourne Park over the summer months. The Australian Open flags are visible from Jollimont train station to the banks of the Yarra River. As the flags rise, Melbourne subsequently heats up with tennis fever, and Melbourne Park comes alive.

How do we do it?

Through our consultation and design process, Abel provides a custom-made brackets solution manufactured in our factory. Each bracket is tailored to suit the grounds, creating instant impact as visitors roam the grounds at Melbourne’s own Grand Slam tournament.

Abel maintains an ongoing relationship with Tennis Australia and Melbourne Park, including bump-out, maintenance, and storage of the flagpoles at our warehouse facility at the end of each tournament.
