Abel Flagpoles at the Australian Open

Abel’s premium quality flagpoles are featured every year throughout The Australian Open tennis tournament held at Melbourne Park.

Every December our profession crew install 122 flagpoles around the grounds at the Australian Open, with an avenue of flags leading to the entrance of Rod Laver Arena. Abel flagpoles bring a splash of colour and excitement to Melbourne Park over the summer months that can be seen from Jollimont train station to the banks of the Yarra River. When the flags go up –  Melbourne starts to heat up as the tennis fever hits and Melbourne Park comes alive.

Through our consultation and design process, Abel has provided a custom made brackets solution, manufactured in our factory, and mapped out to suit the grounds, creating instant impact as visitors roam the grounds at Melbourne’s own Grand Slam tournament.

Abel’s ongoing relationship with Tennis Australia and Melbourne Park includes bump-out, maintenance and storage of the flagpoles at our warehouse facility at the end of each tournament.

At Abel, we know flagpoles. We established our business manufacturing and installing them back in 1992, and we have since built a solid reputation on their quality and reliability. If you’ve been to the tennis this year, then you’ve seen Abel Flagpoles at the Australian Open.
