Lest We Forget
In preparation for ANZAC Day memorial services, the City of Melbourne has installed four new Abel flagpoles at Kensington Hall Reserve. This inner-city suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, is home to the Flemington War Memorial within the open grassy reserve adjacent to the former Kensington Town Hall.
The Flemington War Memorial comprises of a concrete cairn, topped by a small crucifix and mounted on a three tiered plinth. The monument is dedicated to all the district servicemen and women who served in times of war. Its inscription reads:
SACRED
TO THE MEMORY OF THE SERVICEMEN
AND WOMEN OF THE DISTRICT WHO
SERVED OUR COUNTRY IN TIMES OF WAR
THEIR SERVICE IS OUR HERITAGE

The Flemington Kensington RSL ANZAC Day march starts at 5:45am from the RSL followed by a Dawn Service at 6am at Kensington Hall Reserve.
